The Holy Bible
Hartford, CT: William Andrus, 1841. Stereotype Edition. Full leather, likely calf or sheep, with blind tooling on spine and boards. There is wear on boards and spine, but the spine and binding are intact with slight cracking at midpoint of the binding. There is wear and rubbing on the bottom of the boards front and back. Leaves have toning and foxing consistent with age, no tears or writing or marks. Writing and names of previous owners on interior cover and front flyleaf.
Old and New Testament combined in a small size approximately 6" x 4". "Stereotyped Edition". This is a William Andrus Bible and not a Silas Andrus printing. They were related but not the same publishing company- both based in Hartford, CT in the mid 1800's. William primarily printed smaller Bibles and was active as Silas Andrus was beginning to transition out of the business. Good. Item #313
