Posthumously published by Ticknor & Fields and collecting from the author’s walking excursions across the Cape between 1849 – 1857, Cape Cod blends travel narrative, natural history, and philosophical reflection in Thoreau’s characteristic New England prose.
A classic of American Transcendentalism, rich in local color and contemplative observation. This first edition in the original publisher’s cloth, seldom found unrestored.
